This morning we woke up bright and early with good spirits and smiles on our faces, ate a quick breakfast, and headed off to UTech. We set up our venues, filled our water bottles and anxiously awaited the buses to arrive with our first campers. We lined up to greet them to welcome them to JASY Camp.
After a quick camp welcome we sent our campers off to Football, Caribbean Games, Olympic Village, and Swimming. The campers and volunteers cheered and laughed their way through the four venues. Gleeful smiles could be seen all around camp today.
During the football venue, campers and counselors collaborated in practice drills and games to better improve the campers' skills. The counselors and campers worked up quite a sweat due to the intense heat and competition. Getting to meet so many new and interesting people makes me more excited to experience the week. --Zach Travis
