A Cure For Affluenza

Today JASY had explored new horizons at Kingston, Jamaica with our new Junior JASY friends. First, we toured two schools and then the Riverton community. As we toured along and trudged through the massive piles of trash, we saw that these Jamaican people, who live in such unfounded conditions have ONE ASPECT of their lives that can never be taken away, their love for God and God's love for them. This shows how hope exists and if the hope's foundation is strong enough, it can turn any "negative situation" and put a positive spin on how they are living and the pride they have for their community.

Today was a quandary, between the alternate environment of what we know and the joy of all the people with whom we shared these experiences. Jacob Fantuzzo

Today was already a life changing experience for me! It was truly amazing to see all of the kids faces light up as they greeted us and they also were so excited to have their picture taken which was the best part. I met this young girl named Jade who had such a positive attitude toward everything and could not wait to tell me about her favorite animals to see at the zoo. These little kids were so heart warming and welcoming to all of us as we finished up day 2! - Addie Ivey

With much love, JASY 2017 Team
